Deborah Corrales
Originally from Southern California, Deborah Corrales began her artistic journey as a dancer at the renowned Orange County School of the Arts. She pursued her passion for the arts by earning a BFA in Dance from Cornish College of the Arts and later an MA in Arts Administration from Baruch College. These experiences not only shaped her as an artist but also deepened her commitment to supporting the global arts community.
Throughout her career, Deborah has held various leadership roles, including serving as Executive Director of Ariel Rivka Dance and working at The Joyce Theater under the guidance of Aaron Mattocks as Programming Assistant. She also played a pivotal role at Battery Dance as Deputy to the V.P. and Associate Director of Programs & Education, where she developed and managed international projects that brought artists and audiences together.
Deborah is passionate about creating meaningful, collaborative partnerships and supporting artists worldwide, especially in contemporary dance. She believes in the power of the arts to connect communities and foster cultural exchange. Currently, Deborah works with Althea Dance Company (ADC), alongside other companies, where she continues to bring her expertise and love for the performing arts to each project.
In addition to her professional roles, Deborah actively contributes to the arts sector as a volunteer and panelist. She has served as a grant panelist for the Arts Institute of Middlesex County (2022 & 2023) and the Brooklyn Arts Alliance (2022), and as a roundtable panelist at Baruch College (2023). Deborah was also a Programming Intern at The Joyce Theater (2017-2018) and a Baruch College BAM Ambassador (2017-2019).
