Laura Izquierdo Jurado
Laura Izquierdo Jurado, a Madrid native, began her dance training in Ballet and Spanish Dance at the Academia de Danza Esther Racero. She expanded her knowledge with Contemporary and Modern techniques at Danza 180 Madrid and Ateneo della Danza in Siena, Italy. In 2021, Laura arrived to New York to study at The Ailey School, where she was chosen to perform in Mauro Bigonzetti's "Festa Barocca" at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's 2022 New York City Center season. Laura had the pleasure to work with choreographers Clifton Brown, Brice Mousset, Levi Marsman, and Ephrat Asserie. She enriched her dance expertise through programs like the Hubbard Street Dance Chicago summer intensive and Hofesh Shechter and NVA&Guests winter intensives. In 2023, Laura successfully completed the Scholarship Program and has since become a versatile freelance dancer, lending her talents to renowned companies and choreographers such as Jesse Obremski, Jaqulyn Buglisi, Jenny Rocha, Salvatore Larussa Dance Theater, Mark Bankin,… Furthermore, she finds joy in choreographing and specially teaching, both in her visits to Spain and her current role as a Teacher Assistant at The Ailey School in New York City.
